Objectives:

• Following the GENESIS presentation at the CCC 2005 “Sex and Gender Determinants of Cardiovascular Disease: An Overview”. This workshop is aimed to achieve specific conceptual and methodological knowledge in the examination of gender and sex determinants of the etiology, presentation, processes of care (diagnosis/treatment), and outcomes of CVD
• Identify candidate genes determinant of hypertension
• Identify prodromal symptoms that predict outcome post-acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Men and Women
• Explore interaction with smoking through gender determinants in Girls and Boys
• Compare outcomes with coronary artery stenosis of <50%
• Compare effectiveness of cardiac drugs post-AMI in men and women
