Constantine Mavroudis graduated from The University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed General Surgery Training and Thoracic-Cardiovascular Training at the University of California in San Francisco. His first faculty position was at The University of Louisville where he became Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and rose to the rank of Professor of Surgery. He was recruited to Children's Memorial-Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in 1989 as the Willis J. Potts Professor of Surgery and Division Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. In 2003 he was appointed Surgeon-in-Chief at Children's Memorial and still serves in this capacity.
Dr. Mavroudis' practice attracts patients both nationally and internationally because of his expertise in the field of complex congenital heart surgery. In addition to publishing over 300 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, Dr. Mavroudis is also the editor of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, 3rd ed. He serves in leadership positions in the major thoracic surgery professional organizations and is a past president of STSA (2002) and the Congenital Heart Surgeon's Society (2004-2006). |
