Submission Guidelines
When preparing a Workshop, consider that an effective session:
- has high scientific merit;
- has relevant and timely topic and content;
- includes a planning committee representative of CCS membership;
- has not been offered in previous meetings/sessions;
- is balanced and objective;
- is free of industry involvement/support;
- is based on needs of participants; and
- provides opportunity for interaction and evaluation by participants.
As part of the CCC Workshop submission process, you will be required to provide input according to the following criteria:
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Criteria: This focuses on criteria that form the basis of an approvable Section 1 learning activity as established by RCPSC. These criteria cover the spectrum from identification of the target audience to means of evaluation of your workshop.
- The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) Criteria: Established by the CCS Scientific Program Committee, these criteria address the scientific merit, planning committee representation and balance and objectivity of your proposal.
- Disclosure Statement: You must declare conflicts of interest for all workshop speakers in accordance with CCS Conflict of Interest Policy.
Should you need more information in planning your Workshop, resources for session planners have been developed by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and the Conseil de L’Education Medicale Continue du Québec, and can be used at your discretion.
Note: The CCS is unable to reimburse faculty for travel, hotel and per diem expenses. Registration fees must be paid by each individual and will not be covered by the CCS. |
